About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a
Regular Full-time Building Systems Technician III - Brampton to join our dynamic
Facilities Operations & Programs team in Brampton, Ontario.

The
Facilities Operations & Programs team is responsible for managing and maintaining the physical infrastructure and facilities of Canadian Blood Services.

Formula for success

Leveraging your experience, you will provide operation and maintenance of all systems and equipment associated with heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems and all water treatment systems.
Harnessing your skills, you will perform inspections, testing, verification, and maintenance all life safety equipment operation.
Capitalizing on your capabilities, you will perform generalized departmental support functions and maintenance of buildings and grounds as required.
Utilizing your sense of urgency, you will carry out after hours emergency response oncall duties on a rotational basis or as required by schedules.
Leveraging your leadership skills, you will act as contracting manager: supervise contractors and ensure contract specifications are being met according to Canadian Blood Services regulatory requirements.

Desired education and skills

Postsecondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in Heating & Cooling or Electrical systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Building Environmental Systems Operator Class I and Class II Certificate or Systems Maintenance Technician or comparable.
Six months of experience operating and/or monitoring building automation systems and a wellrounded understanding of Emergency Power Systems (production and life safety diesel generators).
Must have valid driver's license.
Knowledge and use of card access systems for security purposes.

What you can expect

Must be able to work on site at our Brampton location.
Required to be oncall on a rotational basis.
This role involves a physical aspect, requiring the capacity to lift weights of up to 50 lbs, as well as the ability to bend, reach high places, and perform lifting tasks.
