Convergint is currently recruiting for a Bilingual Supply Chain Specialist I to join their growing team in either Ottawa or Montreal.

As a bilingual Supply Chain Specialist (English/French) and under direct supervision within a team environment, you will provide support to effectively purchase product, supplies and equipment based on price, service, quality and warranty to ensure uninterrupted and timely supply of product to the Convergint Technology Centre warehouses Canada wide.

This role has an emphasis on timely generation of documentation in support of the Convergint Technologies Materials Management Program and motivation in building effective business relationships with vendors and customers alike.

What you'll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

  • Invite, assess, and award/recommend supplier tenders, bids, quotations, and proposals.
  • Examine, select, order, and purchase goods and services at optimal cost consistent with specification requirements, and other factors in both project and servicebased scenarios within purchasing authority.
  • Consult with functional teams such as project managers, service coordinators, sales, operations, finance, and engineering/estimating to obtain relevant data and business intelligence.
  • Analyze and choose the best modes of transportation for international and domestic shipments and assist with scheduling and coordinating shipments from suppliers to CTCs or CTC to CTC.
  • Interact with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors on an ongoing basis, which may include negotiating prices, discounts, credit terms, and logistics.
  • Source, negotiate, price, and prepare any RFx requests from sales, estimating, engineering, service, or operations.
  • Support reverse logistics processes by working with administrators to authorize payment of invoices or return of material.
  • Negotiate and arrange transport of goods with shipping or freight companies, and quote fare and rates for all shipment modes.
  • Track product flow from origin to final delivery point.
  • Trace lost or missing shipments and work with carriers/suppliers to initiate and complete freight claim processes.
  • Expedite and follow up with suppliers to schedule deliveries, resolve material/value discrepancies, outstanding and overdue delivery of materials, warranty claims, damages, and return of materials.
  • Collect and organize information from a variety of sources to present options regarding material and logistics to internal stakeholders to demonstrate sound decision making.
  • Interpret data on logistics, availability, maintainability, reliability, transportation, and other supply chain focus areas. Collaborate and communicate knowledge (e.g. market information, customer insights, trends, etc) across the business.
  • Identify opportunities to add value beyond problem resolution to relevant business areas.
  • Review and assess risk to supply and demand variability and identify opportunities to manage and mitigate risk.
  • Gather and present data involving customer service, forecasting, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, transportation, and warehousing to Managers and Supervisors.
  • Support inventory processes by utilizing inventory whenever possible, and support minimizing the cost of inventory at all times.
  • Support with the preparation of import/export requirements for shipping and import of international and cross border shipping.
  • Provide strategic supply chain solutions for internal stakeholders using global trade management knowledge.
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing records, reports, and price lists.
  • Acts as "our customer's best service provider" at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer's first choice for service.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You'll Need:
