Overview

Process Technicians/Operators work with various types of extrusion and sophisticated thermoforming equipment, ensuring a safe work environment and maintaining production targets. This role allows you to operate in different areas of the production line, maximizing production and quality of output to meet the team targets.


Shifts: 12 hour Continental (7 to 7), 2 week rotation (days/nights).

What you do


The primary role of an
Operator/Technician is to control and monitor the thermoforming production line and obtain target production yield.

This role also helps with performing Finished Product/Quality and other duties in times of heavy workload, providing relief for breaks, etc., assisting in tooling changeovers and maintenance activities.


Details

  • Monitor and stock the lines with packaging materials (cartons, bag tape, poly bags and labels) / clear and store unused packaging materials as required.
  • Monitor material flow, bins and hoppers.
  • Ensure all scrap product and sheet material is removed from the lines, ground up and that regrind material is consumed within allowable limits.
  • Roll and feed sheets into canopy, trim press and thermoformer.
  • Refill greasers, oilers and distilled water tanks and complete equipment checklists.
  • Maintain tight control of all materials and keep all forms of waste to a minimum.
  • Responsible to ensure that all the necessary equipment, process, quality and sanitation checks are conducted as per established procedures.
  • Monitor process and product quality to ensure products are produced within control parameters. Complete check sheets.
  • Complete all SPC requirements at the prescribed frequency and take corrective actions, as outlined in procedures.
  • Ensure material blends are correct and in control.
  • Troubleshoot and make adjustments as needed to maintain the highest quality yield at all times.
  • Troubleshoot loaders
  • Conduct and ensure preventative maintenance is performed as per established schedules / procedures / practices.
  • Identify equipment maintenance issues that require attention (e.g., worn bushings, loose or missing guards, leaks, etc.)
  • Alert supervision, maintenance and/or technical support if anything requires attention.
  • Know where all emergency stops are located and check fire extinguishers on the line once per shift.
  • Move finished product into the appropriate location in the Warehouse and generate license plate.
  • Assist Packers during changeovers. Watch for mixed product. Assist with box taping and movement of finished product as required.
  • Ensure that the working area is kept clean, orderly and safe. Ensure garbage is dumped, area cleaned, and garbage cans returned to their proper location in the production area.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Ability to understand English written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to lift 3540 lbs on a regular basis and stand for long periods of time
  • Able to clearly fill out labels, reports, and checklists.
  • Proper use of tools required.
  • Must be able to work either an 8 or 12 hourshift schedule, and days, afternoon, and nights.
  • Must be flexible to work different work schedules as required as work assignments will change and opportunity to complete work may require a shift change.
  • Must be willing to work in areas of extreme heat and humidity
  • Must be willing to wear all required protective equipment
  • Required to work in areas with high noise levels and dust.

Also nice to have

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiar with Amhil products.
