About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the VG OR Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for daily operation of OR theaters, ensuring patients receive excellent care and their surgical journey is coordinated.

The Supervisor provides support and decision making to the departments as it relates to efficiency and utilization of resources and will ensure that all care areas are appropriately staffed on a day-to-day basis.

The operating room Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of personnel including creating and maintaining staff schedules for nursing and support staff.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree is required
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
  • Perioperative Nursing Program (PONP), or equivalent
  • Five years of experience working in a perioperative environment with at least two years in a leadership role
  • Experience with Urology, OMF, ENT, Thoracic, Transplant, GYNE Oncology, General Surgery
  • Experience with staff scheduling an asset
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and conflict management skills required
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities with the perioperative environment
  • Demonstrated competence in coaching and mentoring others in achieving optimal performance
  • Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset

  • Long Assignment Fulltime; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $51.79 Hourly
