Your Opportunity at ARC'TERYX:


  • As the Retail Analyst, Labour, you will be responsible for labour reporting, forecasting, traffic variance reporting, analysis of operating labour costs, and leading instore data collection. Reporting directly to the Manager, Retail Analytics, you will partner with FP&A, Operational Solutions, and Retail Training teams to drive results in all workforce labourrelated activities for the vertical retail division. Your role involves ensuring a seamless connection between our retail workforce and guests, assisting teams in scaling for rapid growth through predictive analysis and machine learning to analyze historical traffic data and make informed predictions.

This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work.


Meet Your Future Team:


  • The Retail Strategic Initiatives team is responsible for driving and delivering global scalable strategies to attain our business goals. The team is the conduit between the stores and the crossfunctional partners, aligning, projects, strategies, to deliver the future to our retail fleet.

As the Retail Analyst, Labour, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Automating weekly labour reporting for increased efficiency, reduce manual efforts, and in-depth analysis
  • Forecasting and analyzing monthly / quarterly traffic variances to budget / forecast, actively seeking opportunities for enhancement and identify potential risks
  • Assist in maintaining the labour model and updating it with the latest data
  • Conducting "whatif" scenarios to assess headcount, SPH, labour efficiency, and cost impact to changes in the business
  • Conducting biannual studies on Guest Experience, Labour, and Utilization, and analyzing key inputs
  • Supporting with the building, maintenance and enhancement of reports and dashboards in Power BI
  • Building data visualizations and reports from Data Warehouse using Power BI
  • Working with senior leaders to develop long and shortterm headcount and staffing strategies, making recommendations for hiring based on business plan and gaps
  • Participating in the development of labour standards to maximize operational efficiency, identify bottlenecks, and work to remove any roadblocks
  • Developing and maintaining cross functional relationships to achieve business objectives while ensuring program consistency
  • Preparing adhoc reports, analysis, and calculations

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Creating requirements for Workplace Management System while supporting user design, user testing, and implementation of projects as needed
  • Managing talent and people related projects to formulate organizational recommendations, optimize retail headcount mix, and talent pipeline
  • Assessing financial projects such as the refinement of store P&Ls and the evolution of sales planning

Are you our next Retail Analyst, Labour?:

  • You have a bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field and 3+ years' experience in relevant analytical field, e.g., financial analysis, workforce planning, forecasting, or data analytics
  • You have 3+ years' experience in a vertical retail environment, with a deep understanding of retail
  • You can perform accurate advanced data manipulation, analysis, and effective information presentation
  • You have experience with financial modelling and/or workforce management and planning
  • You have a strong working knowledge in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • You are proficient in SQL and working with relational databases to query and model data
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate requirements, data analysis and captivate your audience via written communication, leading meetings, and presentations
  • You have a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
  • You can work independently as well as part of a team
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
$80,000 - $100,000 a year
