- A master's degree in counselling with a specialization in career development and a minimum of two years' experience in career counselling or related field; or the equivalent education and experience.
- An understanding of the MS Office suite (spreadsheets, presentation software, outlook, etc.), databases, and internet applications at an intermediate level; and
- a current driver's license (travel in the region required)

Location: Dawson Creek, Fort St. John or Chetwynd, BC
Salary/Benefits:
$ $48.64 depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% of regular earnings in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay day.

Do you have a background in counselling and want to contribute to a student's journey of identifying or changing their careers? We have an immediate position available as a career advisor that may be just for you.
As the successful candidate, you will be a member of the recruitment team assisting high school students, college graduates, and adults to identify suitable careers, improve their careers, or change their career path. You will provide guidance on the different educational opportunities at Northern Lights College and help identify NLC programming that aligns the clients career choice.
You will be tasked with case management and career counselling: analyzing students' educational backgrounds and employment history to help them to determine what the next steps are to achieve their goals. You will conduct one-on-one sessions with our clients to determine any barriers, and use the outcomes of aptitude, skills, interest, or personality assessments to assist them in matching interests and strengths to the programs that they chose.
Qualifications:
This position will require you to have the ability to work independently, to develop and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships, and to have the ability to manage multiple tasks, while prioritizing daily work to meet deadlines.
