Do you have a background in policy development, research and analysis? Are you interested in supporting the development and implementation of legislation and regulation to modernize the oversight of regulated and non-regulated health professionals in Ontario?If so, consider this Policy Analyst position with the Health Workforce Regulatory Oversight Branch, Ministry of Health.
In this challenging role, you will conduct policy research and analysis, develop key performance metrics, support the development of legislation and regulations and provide advice on the oversight of health professionals to ensure they are competent and safe.

What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will:
- Plan and conduct research, including environmental scanning, cross-jurisdictional research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, trends, options and impact analysis of policy and program recommendations
- Develop key performance metrics, measurements and evaluation frameworks
- Review, analyze and provide advice and recommendations related to health workforce legislation, regulation and oversight
- Provide support to working groups and committees
- Prepare presentations and briefing materials for senior staff and management
How do I qualify?:
Policy and Program Knowledge/ Skills:
- You have knowledge of policy and program development principles, techniques and decisionmaking processes
- You have the ability to gain knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations and identify key issues facing Ontario's health workforce
- You have knowledge of policy, program design and evaluation frameworks to assess new and changed policies and programs and provide recommendations
Research and Analytical Skills:
- You have knowledge of research methodology and understanding of policy and research tools to find, analyze, and synthesize information
- You can conduct analysis on trends, directions and issues considering qualitative and quantitative factors to make recommendations
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
- You have written communication skills to draft correspondence, prepare papers, reports, briefing notes and materials for cabinet submissions
- You can build and maintain working relationships with stakeholders to support policy and program development
- You have consultation and presentation skills to lead policy working groups, exchange information, discuss issues, and provide research findings
Project Management Skills:
- You have knowledge of project methodology and project management skills to participate or lead projects
