Are you an experienced electrician looking to get off the tools and make a switch in your electrical career? Raylec Power LP has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Electrical Estimator/Project Coordinator.

We are a versatile electrical contractor with over 30 years of experience, specializing in construction, complex system installations, and a wide range of maintenance services for commercial and industrial customers on Vancouver Island and throughout British Columbia.


As a full-time Electrical Estimator/Project Coordinator, you will be based in either our Langford office (preferred) or Nanaimo office, reporting directly to the General Manager.

What you bring:

  • Strong proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project).
  • Experience and proficiency with Accubid estimating products is preferred.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean Driver's Abstract.
  • Trade Journeyman Electrician Certification is an asset.
  • Proven experience in bidding on projects within the $1 to $2 million range.
  • Experience in preparing preliminary estimates and budgets at various stages.
  • Familiarity with traffic control systems, subdivision work, airfield, and other electrical power systems.
  • Strong knowledge of local markets and suppliers.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and numerical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
This role involves a range of job duties, which include, but are not limited to:

  • As an Electrical Estimator/Project Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in our projects' success.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


  • Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates for designbuild or general tender projects.
  • Analyze proposals, blueprints, and specifications to determine project timeframes.
  • Develop project plans based on estimates, defining tasks, schedules, and required personnel.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, leveraging local expertise to estimate costs.
  • Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and required estimate contents.
  • Maintain accurate working documents as backup for estimate figures, including uptodate price information from suppliers.
  • Thoroughly review all final estimate packages prepared by others to ensure accuracy and completeness before formal quotation.
  • Present estimates to senior management for review and approval.

Salary:
$85,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
