Home Hardware has an exciting opportunity available for a

Finance Manager - Inventory Accounting to join our Corporate Finance team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate management of monthly financial statements and analysis, specific to all inventory cost accounting transactions for Home Hardware.

What you'll do:


  • Lead the financial accounting processes for inventory, costs of goods sold and distribution sales including accruals, provisions, and cutoff according to ASPE standards.
  • Prepare/review budgets for the for accounts relating to sales, cost of goods sold and inventory. Must have an excellent knowledge of past results and future projections and be able to determine if the budget is reasonable. Monitor results and variances on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain working paper files and supporting documentations, schedules, variance analysis, graphs and other analysis for external audit working papers and as required by management.
  • Act as a resource to various departments with regards to sales, gross margin and inventory using Business Analytics Cube (Power BI), Oracle Discoverer or Prism systems.
  • Recommend proper accounting treatment and controls for new transactions and lines of business.
  • Work closely with external auditors to coordinate cycle counts and provide support for revenue, cost of goods sold and inventory related queries.
  • Review monthly or quarterly results with managers to discuss results and reasons for variances from prior year and or the current year forecast. Discuss with the managers to explain the variance and follow up accordingly.

What we're looking for:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, with a professional CPA designation.
  • Five to ten years' experience in cost accounting, preferably within the Retail or Manufacturing industry.
  • Experience working within a complex ERP environment.
  • Skilled in inventory cost accounting and revenue recognition for distribution.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to interface with systems to troubleshoot any billing or costing concerns
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills with proven ability to interact with crossfunctional business teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power BI) and experience with Oracle Financials is an advantage.
