Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. is currently looking for a Marine Systems Technician to join their Grimsby team.

Our Marine Systems Technicians are responsible for the preparation, assembly, and programming of new marine-based fire systems (detection and suppression).

Responsibilities

Install, maintain and modify fixed fire protection systems ensuring compliance to codes and standards, in accordance with our customer's needs (CO2, Novec, FM200, Water Mist, Wet and Dry Chemical)
Train clients on operation of life safety systems
Perform upgrades, repairs, additions of improvement to systems as required
Maintain knowledge of codes and standards
Maintain equipment in accordance with Transport Canada guidelines and ISO procedures
Responsible to keep inventory organized and notify of stock order requirements
Develop and maintain high caliber relationships with clients, to ensure their full satisfaction in doing business with our company
Be available for emergency after hours service; perform emergency work while ensuring that there are mínimal call backs

Qualifications

Previous Marine Industry experience considered an asset
Minimum high school diploma
Diploma or Degree in Fire Protection would be an asset
Previous experience working with Fire Suppression systems
Marine/Offshore experience an asset, working on board ships and off shore
Certification and Strong knowledge of NFPA10 & TDG standards
Valid drivers license with clean abstract and willing to travel.

Salary:
From $41,000.00 per year
