    Description

    Alamos Gold's Island Gold is one of Canada's highest grade and lowest cost gold mines. This underground operation is located just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa in Northern Ontario. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold's Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality, and Alamos is now investing in a major expansion project which is expected to transform Island into one of the largest and most profitable mines in Canada with an 18-year mine life.     Key Responsibilities:

  • Required to read prints and accurately identify which holes to load and what length
  • Able to sequence blast using Icons and troubleshoot as required
  • Safely operate scoop to cleanup in stopes
  • Safely blow floors down for cable and production holes
  • Safely operate tractor with basket and forks.
  • Set up bumper blocks for mucking remote
  • Safely operate backhoe for cleaning holes
  • Able to set up water blast and sprays
  • Install vent barricades and remove pipe prior to blasting
  • Safely operate scissor truck
  • Safely drill with jackleg and stoper
  • Install life lines, swing arms, remote stands and bumper block
  • Safely install and strip services
  • Qualifications:

  • Must have full UG common core modules
  • Must be self – motivated, organized and have initiative. Able to work with others.
  • Must be able and qualified to perform all tasks of the position in a safe manner.
