Part of the Family Pet Memorial Centre, located in Sturgeon County, Alberta, continues to grow and is currently seeking a mature, hardworking individual for immediate hire whose main duties would be to operate the Crematorium and to assist with landscaping and maintenance duties as well as would be cross trained in transferring pets into our care from Clinics and homes.


  • Be trained to operate our pet crematorium
  • Handle pet remains and cremated remains with dignity and respect
  • Place cremated remains into urns and cremation jewelry
  • Assist with the intake of deceased pets and provide customer service as needed
  • Complete daily paperwork
  • Complete all required documentation with respect to cremation process and equipment maintenance
  • Assist with the maintenance of the facility, property and equipment.
  • Promote a safe work environment by being aware of and practicing universal precautions and adopting general principles of safe conduct
  • Maintain the crematorium, equipment and adjacent facilities
  • Any other duties as directed by management
  • Convey facts and information clearly in written and spoken communications
  • Share viewpoints and information openly and listen attentively to others' ideas and suggestions
  • Communicate in a timely and effective manner with manager
  • Will be expected to be on call as back up to first up on call team member

We are seeking an individual capable of:

Mechanically inclined - not afraid to get your hands dirty:

  • Constant attention to detail and able to learn quickly
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Work well as a team and independently.
  • Must have good people skills and be sympathetic and respectful towards the feelings of pet loss and be understanding of client's who are experiencing grief
  • High level of compassion and integrity
  • Ability to multi task and set priorities
  • Must display a strong work ethic both personally and professionally

Work Environment:

  • Moderate odors, dust or fumes may cause discomfort and / or irritation to eyes or respiratory passages
  • Working beyond "regular" hours as the need arises
  • Some duties may also require you be exposed to unpleasantries associated with deceased pet remains.
  • Considerable amount of heavy lifting
