Ontario is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated Digital and Information Management Lead with experience in digital product delivery to join the Economic Development Division, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, to lead, design and deliver digital services and products to improve data and information management and provide user-centred services to agriculture stakeholders.


As the Digital and Information Management Lead, you will provide information technology expertise, product management, and analysis and evaluation skills to support the growing demand for the Agriculture Development Branch's digital delivery of knowledge translation and transfer, and to ensure more effective and efficient access to information.

This position will involve delivering on priority information management and digital initiatives for ministry priorities (ex. plant health and production outcomes) and technology transfer to the agriculture sector.

We are looking for an individual with a background in developing digital products. We seek an energetic self-starter, with strong leadership capabilities. What can I expect to do in this role?:


In this role, you will:


  • Collaborate with development and user experience teams to deliver impactful products and build iterative, high quality products
  • Motivate your team and everyone around you through great storytelling and communication
  • Be strategic and tactical you'll help define the product strategy, but also roll up your sleeves and get it implemented
  • Lead products from concept to release, while ensuring smooth operations and continuous product improvement.
  • Build solid relationships with partners to understand users' needs, program goals, and the program's policies and operational constraints so that you can develop products that are valuable, usable and feasible.
  • Provide product management advice and guidance across the division and throughout the ministry to share expertise and build digital capacity in government.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and seek to understand how a product technically works and ask questions and challenge assumptions
  • Demonstrate passion about the user, putting users at the centre of all you do.

Product Management:


  • You have experience developing a product vision and strategy, and have led multidisciplinary teams to achieve that vision from concept to launch using such methods as agile.
  • You have strong decision making and prioritization skills.
  • You have experience collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to translate the product vision into a backlog and lead the team through smooth and continuous delivery.
  • You have experience working on a mature product balancing the need to address technical debt with new product enhancements through continuous iterations.
