Upon joining the team, you will receive;
- $42,000-$47,000 per annum, based on experience;

  • Fulltime salaried position, standard business hours (9 am 5 pm). The nature and scope of this position may, from time to time, require, particularly through extended periods of the year, the need for work to be scheduled outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends with a willingness to travel when required.

What you'll be doing:


Under the leadership of the Manager, Member Services, this role is responsible for administering the day-to-day operations of Rugby Ontario's Player Safety, Match Official and Coach Education programs, including Discipline and Blue Card (concussion & head injury management).

A close working relationship is essential with other members of the Rugby Ontario team and relevant community and club stakeholders, partners, and committees.

Excellent organizational and communication skills will be paramount to () achieving this position's objectives.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Support the daytoday administration and operations of the Match Official and Coach Education portfolio, primarily certification courses.
  • Facilitate Rugby Ontario's delivery of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) scheduling, hosting and communicating with learning facilitators and workshop attendees.
  • Drive the implementation of the referee appointments and grading process, supporting Rugby Ontario's and regional branch referee appointers.
  • Coordinate various SportLoMo coach and referee management software functionalities, including managing registration compliance and tracking, certification and accreditation requirements and ongoing communication database administration.
  • Liaise with external rugby partners as it relates to referee appointments for nonclub and education system competitions (e.g. OUA, OCAA and OFSAA).
  • Liaise with the Match Official operational committee and participate in committee meetings as required.
  • In conjunction with the Director, Rugby Operations, develop annually and facilitate the Match Official and Coach certification course calendars.
  • Coordinate the Rugby Ontario Referee onfield and offfield kit program, including facilitating order/sales, fulfilment and internal/external communication with the official supplier and registered match officials.
  • Assist the Chief Operating Officer with all financial management of the Match Official and Coach Education portfolio budget and expense management, including regular budget review, expense management, reconciling match official contract revenue, etc.
  • Assist in the delivery of Rugby Ontario events as required, ensuring all match official requirements are in place and in accordance with Rugby Ontario policy and procedure and the World Rugby Laws of the Game.
  • Administer and serve as a point of contact for the Rugby Ontario Discipline, Investigations & Appeals procedures, including triage of discipline reports and notifications, coordination of hearings, and updating SportLoMo with relevant disciplinary actions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Member Services and/or the Chief Operating Officer or Director, Rugby Operations.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:


  • A postsecondary level of education in a related field of study (i.e. Sports Management, Recreation, Event Planning/Management, Community Development).
  • Prior experience working in a sports organization, and preference is given to those demonstrating experience working in competitions and events (e.g. scheduling, logistics planning, database management, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Rugby Ontario and the Ontario rugby community is an asset but not essential.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
  • Exceptional planning, analytical and reporting skills.
  • Selfdirected and resultsoriented with the ability to multitask and problemsolve.
  • Proficient computer skills using both Mac and PC and Microsoft Office, including competency in creating presentations (e.g. PowerPoint) and facilitating online / virtual meetings and presentations (e.g. MS Teams and Zoom, or similar platforms).
  • Experience organizing group meetings (online/inperson) and managing all relevant logistics.
  • Ability to work within a flexible schedule and in a remote work environment setting.
