Location: 24 Napoleon Road, Barrie


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


  • Proactively identify documentation areas that need to be updated based on engineering changes. Ensure that final documents comply with corresponding standards and style guides.
  • Strategize and implement process improvements, for both documentation processes and digital related processes
  • Collaborate with other members of the engineering, research and development, operations, and quality departments to develop materials and best practices for digital content development, contributing to WI Team illustration banks and style guides as needed.
  • Develop written and digital documentation in support of 'Stage Gate' implementations, including onscreen instructions, user manuals, job aids, and other educational content for a variety of consumer products
  • Manage tasks and information flow using collaboration software (such as SolidWorks, Adobe CC, Office 365, SharePoint, Excel, and custom databases).
  • Review Technical Documentation content for consistency and compliance against Engineering, and Quality Documentation.
  • Create procedures and practices, to determine appropriate job actions.
  • Create update and revise production work instructions and supplementary documents with new or revised information in accordance with Stage Gate and Change Notice procedures.
  • Create and maintain schedule, ensuring timelines are followed as per Stage Gate or Change Notice procedures.
  • Maintain and update training material for all new WI Process Administrators, as well as administer the training for new associates.
  • Maintain and update reports on status of work instructions for Manufacturing Managers. Maintain the work instruction request log to ensure prompt response to Manufacturing requests.
  • Work with R&D to develop and maintain the Solidworks PDM vault.
  • Maintain CF discussions and HRIS for associates reporting to the Team Leader.

Education and Experience:


  • High School Diploma, Post-Secondary Education preferred
  • One+ years' experience in Management or Management courses completed through Georgian College or accredited institution.
  • SolidWorks Certification and Technical Writer Certificate is considered an asset.
  • 3D graphics software experience such as SolidWorks, Catia and NX required. Experience with tools including Adobe CC, Microsoft Office Suite, PDM, and ERP system.
  • Electrical/Industrial Engineering background is considered an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge and compliance with employment legislation including ESA, OHSA, Human Rights, etc.
