    Duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis, design, inspection of waterfront structures, asset management, submarine systems, and other maritime projects
  • Structural analysis and design with timber, steel, concrete and composite materials
  • Prestressed concrete analysis and design
  • Develop plans, specifications, and calculations as needed
  • Help resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project
  • Calculate construction quantity estimates and assist in construction cost estimating
  • Work closely with other architects, engineers, scientists, project managers, etc. on multi-discipline projects
  • Prepare conceptual and feasibility study reports and memorandums
  • Assist in public engagement meetings and preparation of presentation materials

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited Canadian or US university, plus the ability to be registered as an Engineer-in-Training with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) is required
  • 1 to 4 years of structural design experience. Experience in waterfront/marine structural or bridge design strongly preferred
  • Proficiency SAP 2000, MathCAD, Profis and other structural analysis software is desired
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Availability and willingness to travel
  • Due to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residence and clear results of a thorough background check that may include but is not limited to credit and criminal history.
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST

    • Base salary range:

    CA$36.00 to CA$44.00 per hour based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.

    Physical requirements:

    Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
