Support Services Associate - Clearing and Cards (Permanent, Full-time)

Location:
Hybrid/Peterborough, ON


Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday


Rate of Pay:
Dependent on experience


Position Description:


As a Support Services Associate, you will:

  • Process and reconcile daily incoming electronic and paper clearings.
  • Maintain and administer member requests for stop payments and branch requests for hold funds in accordance with established procedures.
  • Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts and internal posting accounts relating to clearing activity.
  • Support risk management activities by identifying unusual situations such as kiting, unsatisfactory account operation, and suspicious or unusual transactions.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate files on activities.
  • Administer various product offerings such as: travel insurance, utility payments, Canadian and FX Drafts, and FX Notes Foreign Currency Cash & Cheques
  • Assist with the administration of debit card functions by reconciling and maintaining various systems
  • Receive, reconcile and process chargebacks to member accounts. Prepare the required advice letters referring overdraft or unusual situations to branch management.
  • Ensure electronic Notice of Change through Central 1's online return system is regularly submitted to reduce the number of rejected items due to incorrect encoding.
  • Liaise with the Information Systems Department and Celero to resolve clearing issues, identify efficiencies or opportunities to support branches.
  • Process preauthorized debits and changes within an appropriate timeline, escalating issues appropriately to management.

Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 12 years of financial services experience
  • Excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills
