    Description

    The Fath Group is currently looking for an experienced Intermediate Accounts Payable Specialist to fill a maternity leave. This is a full-time position based in our head office, located in the west end of Edmonton. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the successful incumbent will be required to be responsible for the following:

    Responsibilities

  • Complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Ensure outstanding balances are updated with credit memos that are due
  • Reimburse employees by receiving and verifying expense reports using company-specific accounting software
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
  • Maintain historical records of all invoices, reports, receipts, and cheques through accurate electronic record keeping on the network
  • Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders, including vendors, other departments, and colleagues
  • Ensure company policies, processes, and procedures are clearly defined, documented and maintained
  • Code, record and enter vendor invoices in the accounting system
  • Issue cheques and vendor payments
  • Apply company processes, controls, and policies associated with all responsibilities
  • Other related duties as required or assigned
  • Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years prior accounts payable (AP) experience is required.
  • Overall accounting knowledge will be desirable.
  • Experience with Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Data entry with high attention to detail and a high level of accuracy required
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and proactively prioritize needs are requirements for this role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet a variety of deadlines is required
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal. Communication methods used in this position include telephone, in-person, and e-mail.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong vendor relationships is required.
