In addition, the incumbent will support data center technologies hosting the college's virtual desktop infrastructure, working to maintain highly available infrastructure and manage ongoing server environment processes and procedures.

To succeed in this role, they will need to demonstrate strong technical knowledge of virtualization technologies and latest end user (Desktop) trends & efficiencies.

They will also need to demonstrate project management skills, including research, problem-solving, and creativity, to effectively design, support, and maintain the systems.

Overall, the Infrastructure Analyst III - VDI position requires a highly capable individual who can manage small to medium-sized projects with ease and efficiency, delivering top-quality results that meet the needs of the college's stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Management (30%)

As a senior member of the infrastructure team, works collaboratively within Infrastructure team, to support & deliver a highly available, replicated, and expandable virtual desktop infrastructure at Bow valley College, for internal and external business partners
Leads all aspects of the maintenance and development of new technologies to provide an advanced level of

technical knowledge and consultation on the College's end user virtualization platforms.

Leads the conceptual, logical, and physical design of virtual desktop Infrastructure & relating technologies across a wide range of client types.
Estimates levels of effort and costs for proposed VDI related projects.
Understands, interprets, designs, and documents the technical specifications of the environment in its current and future states.
Works collaboratively with INF Analyst III
Virtualization to review BVC server requirements and future strategic data planning for the ITS Infrastructure team.
As the Subject Matter Expert on Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, leads and provides direction on all aspects related to:
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
Virtual Reality integration projects.
Game design & Cloud service incentives relating to VDI.
Prioritizes and executes tasks in a highenergy, fast paced environment.
Works collaboratively with INF Analyst III
Virtualization on Server design, build, implementation, and ongoing support/maintenance of Cloud, Virtual and On-Prem VDI Servers as required.
Understands and adheres to the ITS Service Level Agreements and understands its priorities and escalation procedures.
Collaborates with Manager,

ITS:
Infrastructure to ensure VDI environment design meets availability, reliability, and scalability requirements of college business needs.

Continues to gain systems expertise by learning each supported software program at the systems and operation level.

Infrastructure Team Leadership (20%)

Builds and maintains relationships between the College and Value-Added Reseller partners (VARs).
Coordinates and manages vendor activities on VDI projects.
Provides leadership in the design and maintenance of the current infrastructure and networking components deployed throughout the College.
Utilizes current and developing skillsets to maintain effective and efficient systems operation of the College.
Coordinate work assignments with the VDI pod to effectively adhere to SLA's and meet project deadlines.
Represents the College's interests in current and future technologies utilized at the College
As a senior member of the ITS infrastructure team, promotes collaboration between teammembers

This includes:

Providing training and mentoring opportunities for teammembers relevant to supporting the Enterprise Services environment.
Accountable to the team as a support partner for all VDI operations & services.

Operational Activity (30%)

Provides Tier 3 problem resolution to quickly isolate failures between server platforms in a complex environment.
Monitors and maintains the Virtual Desktop environment.
Provides Virtual desktop environment support to
