Description

Responsibilities:

Mainframe Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in working with mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and other relevant tools and languages.

Defect Identification and Reporting: Identify, document, and prioritize defects using appropriate tools and methodologies. Work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution and retesting of defects.

Test Environment Setup: Configure and maintain test environments, including mainframe systems and associated hardware and software components, to accurately simulate production conditions.

Test Automation: Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated test scripts to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of test plans, test cases, test results, and defects. Provide clear and concise reports on testing progress and outcomes.

Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, system administrators, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless communication and alignment throughout the testing lifecycle.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Strong understanding of mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
Proficiency in creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex defects.
Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing methodologies.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Detailoriented mindset with a commitment to delivering highquality results.
Relevant certifications in software testing, mainframe technologies, or quality assurance are a plus.
