- Manage a team of technical experts supporting security platform towards a clear and strategy aligned vision. As a manager, you will build the Security Platform team to deliver and operationalize the security technologies to advance the Cyber Security capabilities and protection mechanisms for the department.
- Act as lead in adopting new ways of working supporting Sun Life's digital enterprise transformation. Guide and coach team on use of JIRA and Confluence, agile techniques to help increase their knowledge around the digital delivery.
- Own and manage the Security Platform from concept through delivery and rollout. This includes all the aspects of product management but not limited to the active management of understanding new and emerging technologies within the domains and the replacement of obsolete products, financial management, workload management, vendor management, reporting and other.
- Own, lead and manage the design, implementation, operationalization, and operational support of a Security Platform products within the platform. Provide subject matter expertise to represent the team in technology discussions and decisions.
- Manage the construction, maintenance and continuous improvement of core infrastructure that underlies the Platform.
- Develop, communicate, and support the implementation of corporate policies, standards, and procedures that provide effective governance and management of Security Platform.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Infrastructure Technology Teams, Other Security Platforms, Security Operations and Investigation teams and other business stakeholders to ensure that security solutions and tooling are integrated and deployed appropriately to meet all requirements in each of the technology solutions.
- Prioritize initiatives and business as usual work based on business needs and security risk and direction from Security Leadership.
- Provide leadership and direction to the team in project delivery to assist in driving out results for project deliverables, prioritizing actions, assisting with overcoming obstacles that arise through the implementation of projects, and ensuring that sufficient security and audit mechanisms are in place for on-going operations.
- Develop plans to smoothly transition and operationalize each project as the implementation phase ends. This includes developing roles & responsibilities (RACI) documents and educating the teams who will be absorbing the day-to-day work.
- Communicate project implementation progress and deliverables, status, escalations, and blockers to the executive level in partnership with the Security Initiatives team through appropriate reporting mechanisms.
- Coach and develop team.
- Participate in Security Incident 24x7 rotation.
- University degree/college diploma in related discipline(s) or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years in security IT industry experience with Subject Matter Expertise in the one or more areas of security: Perimeter, Endpoints, Crypto, Cloud, Email Security, Security Visibility, and Automation and Orchestration.
- Professional designation in IT security management (such as CISM, CISSP, CISA) preferred. ITIL Certification preferred.
- Product Owner certification preferred.
- Familiar with Cyber Security frameworks (NIST, MITRE) and security tools and services.
