Job Purpose
Lead carpenter is responsible for the managing site crew activities for custom home construction. Tasked with maintaining a safe and clean jobsite, and timely construction practices. Continues to learn and advance carpentry skills, as well as help to teach junior apprentices.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and instruct carpenters to the standards of Effect Home Builders
  • Organize and create game plans for junior carpenters to follow
  • Able to complete all aspects of construction with little to no supervision
  • Accountable for site safety
  • Identify, isolate, document and solve site problems and issues
  • Ability to motivate junior carpenters to meet construction deadlines
  • Ability to forecast and organize deliveries and returns when necessary
  • Participation in safety program

Requirements:


  • High level of motivation
  • Clear, concise and respectful communication skills
  • Ability to achieve high level of company standards of construction
  • Journeyman certificate preferred
  • Ability to read and write
  • Provide tools and PPE as per supplied list
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Neat, presentable appearance
  • Respectful onsite presence
  • Reliable vehicle, valid drivers license, good driving record
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis
  • Perform a variety of construction tasks within a 44 hour work week
