    About the Role

    Mount Royal University's Faculty of Science and Technology is accepting applications for a part-time appointment for the Winter semester which will commence January and end April 2024.

    The department is seeking a qualified professional with the ability to teach the following course:

    Metamorphic Petrology

    Days & Times Offered: Winter 2024 term, Monday and Wednesday 2:30 p.m. - 3:50 p.m. Friday 10:00 a.m. -12:50 p.m .

    Course Description: The theoretical and practical study of metamorphic rocks in hand specimen and thin section. Topics include classification and origin of metamorphic rocks; chemical equilibrium; metamorphic facies and textures; and the relationship between regional metamorphism and tectonics.

    Responsibilities

  • Instruction: Course delivery including preparation and assessments of lectures and labs, and course D2L Brightspace site; and
  • Administration: submit course attendance sheets and final grades upon course completion, and participate in scheduled program meetings.
  • Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master's degree is required in Geology or a closely-related discipline with a PhD preferred.
  • Significant experience instructing undergraduate courses.
