The Opportunity

The Manager, Global Finance will oversee Finance activities of KPMG Global Resource Centre, a wholly owned subsidiary of KPMGI.

Key elements of the role include overseeing outsourced accounting operations in Toronto to ensure all processing is timely and accurate.

Review and analyze the financial statements and management accounts highlighting issues and areas of concern to the Head of Finance Operations.


The Manager, Global Finance will also support Global Finance Core Operations daily activities, assisting with various projects and initiatives in Finance Operations.

The role is based in Toronto, Canada.


This role will work directly with outsourced service provider, monitor and report on quality of delivered services against established KPIs.

Global Finance delivers most ongoing finance activities from outsourced providers.

The KPMG resources in Global Finance are focused on providing value added activities which can only be delivered from within the firm.

Among other things Global Finance is responsible for managing all financial budgeting and reporting for KPMG International and its subsidiaries.


What you will do

  • Oversee KPMG GRC accounting operations; Work closely with the outsourced provider to ensure accuracy in Accounts payable, profit and loss accounts and balance sheet
  • Monitor all daytoday GRC financial activities. Provide guidance and assistance on any accounting matter.
  • Prepare IFRS financial statements, working papers and any additional information for the interim and annual audit. Analyse year end movements in the financial statements for review by the Financial Controller
  • Oversee monthly closing processes. Work with outsourced provider on constant improvement of monthly reporting outcome
  • Perform an initial review of quarterly KPMG GRC financial statements and analysis identifying and resolving any issues or inconsistencies prior to review by the Financial Controller
  • Examine and reconcile monthly MSLP invoices to payroll register, T&E reports and GL and AP Glide
  • Monitor monthly invoicing of the GRC expense transactions by cost centre for consolidation of GRC expenses in KPMGI
  • Examine and analyse quarterly true up of allocation costs. Agree all allocation costs to the Services Agreement. Resolve all discrepancies with MSLP directly and escalate to the Financial Controller if required
  • Oversee and monitor the weekly cash balances. Ensure timely requests submitted for the funds advances. Provide information required for accurate cash forecasting
  • Review and approve weekly payment supporting documentation prior to Director of Finance authorization in rotation with other members of the Finance team
  • Collaborate with other team members on compliance of KPMGI vendor maintenance and payment process in accordance with IRS 1099 and 1042 reporting requirements. Assist with the annual 1099 and 1042 filing process
  • Support KPMGI supplier maintenance and balance reconciliation activities, assist with various KPMGI monthend and year end closing activities
  • Assist Senior Manager Finance Operations and the internal tax team with all tax documentation requirements related to KPMGI account receivable activities, i.e. tax certificates, protocols, declaration letters
  • Support oversight of KPMGI AR collection and escalation process, interest charges on longoutstanding membership dues
  • Responsible for preparation of various entities Statistical Returns in accordance with established guidelines
  • Provide support with various Global Finance projects and initiatives as required
