Position Summary:
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for working within a variety of accounting fields to efficiently compile accurate information and help facilitate financial reporting to fulfill internal, external, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintains inventory records and transactions, ensuring accuracy & completeness. Reconciling packaging/WIP/finished goods inventory levels (onsite and 3rd party), investigating and analyzing variances, assisting with customer credit/debit note validation, and complete all inventory month end responsibilities, all while ensuring data integrity.
- Ensures accurate and complete reporting of inventory physical counts.
- Key stakeholder for the internal capital expenditure process: including analysis, balance sheet reconciliations & journal entries.
- Various sales analyses and reporting.
- Supports the Accounts Payable Supervisor role and responsibilities in their absence.
- Collaborates with stakeholders on diverse initiatives ensuring continual analysis and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Supports external audit requirements through the preparation of accurate working papers.
- Other ad hoc projects and analysis as assigned.
- Manage the internal CAPEX approval process.
Requirements:
- A Diploma/Degree in accounting or finance and related accounting/analysis experience.
- Successful completion of an Accounting designation (CPA).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (advanced level in MS Excel) and other Windows Applications.
- Working knowledge of financial / operational database ERP systems (experience with AS400 is considered an asset);
- Strong interpersonal skills partnered with the ability to communicate effectively with all areas of the organization.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands through excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask. Achieves success when working independently and is a proven team player.
- An enthusiastic, processoriented, selfstarter who ensures accuracy with the utmost regard to confidentiality.
