Human Resource Manager Consultant (Fixed Contract)
Job Summary:
A contracted temp Human Resources Manager/Consultant to review, audit and mentor our current HR Department.
Focusing on recruitment and retention, work to increase total staffing levels, reduce the number of open positions and increase the number of permanent employees.

Controller of Finance and Administration
Hours:
Full Time Fixed Contract - 6 months, $5000-$7500/month sub-contract

Vinge Community Living Services provides specialized Residential, Day Program and Respite services for persons with developmental disabilities and complex physical and/or mental health issues and for individuals with complex physical health issues.
Our Community Living Services, although specialized in supporting persons with complex needs, have as its main goal: a safe and connected life in the community for all the persons we support.
Qualifications, Job Skills, and Abilities:
- Relevant degree, diploma in Human Resources
- Minimum 5 years experience as a HR Manager/Consultant
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to organize work and carry out the duties of the position with independence.
- Computer skills especially related to use of office programs.
- Proficient organization, time and general management skills.
- Proven track record in recruitment and retention
- Union experience is an asset.
- Experience in BC's Community Social Services sector is an asset.
- Experience with Ceridian's Dayforce and/or Sharevision is an asset.
- Non-Canadians will be required to provide evidence of landed immigrant status or work visas/permits.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to increase staffing levels company wide
- Increase total staff by 1020%;
- Review current recruitment practices and identify/eliminate inefficiencies;
- Assist and participate in all aspects of the hiring process;
Audit current HR practices:
- Review current HR operations;
- Ensure Policies corroborate with current Employment Standards and relevant Collective Agreement;
- Review investigation process, develop processes and strategies;
- Develop plans for conflict resolutions
- Mentor current HR department.
- Provide strategic consultation advice, problem solve, and facilitate resolutions with unclear guidelines and established frameworks
- Develop employment incentive plan to improve staff satisfaction and employee retention.
- Identify missed opportunities within our Payroll/WFM software, "Dayforce" and implement unused HR features.
General Responsibility
- Conduct phone and in person interviews
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies
- Develop and implement retention strategies
- Review New Employee Orientations
- Conduct New Employee Orientations
- Follow up with new hires
- Reference Checks
- Weekly payroll meetings
- Review employee updates processes
- Attend Weekly Senior Management Meeting
- Review and monitor Health & Safety Meetings/Inspections
- Assist HR Associate with documentation and drafting of formal letters
- Review, monitor and assist with the investigation process
- Review, monitor and assist with DMI and Worksafe procedures
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Respect for individual confidentiality
- Follows PIPED rules
Additional Information:
Position comes with a private office in a office tower in central Burnaby near Metrotown. Optional hybrid work model. Minimum 50% in office.

$5,000.00-$7,500.00 per month

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Our office is still practicing PPE and sanitization protocols. Our industry falls under the PHO current Mask Mandate for Health Care settings.

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Experience:
- Human resources: 5 years (preferred)
