DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of Orthopedic Surgeons and Advanced Practice Providers, the Medical Office Assistant will provide the following duties:

  • Scheduling and communicating appointment details to patients
  • Managing schedules for multiple services delivered from the office location
  • Managing requests for patient documents, referrals and clinical supplies
  • Prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum 2 years experience in medical administrative role
  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in Office Administration, or recognized equivalent, or a combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of orthopedic medical terminology
  • OHIP billing experience
  • Demonstrate advanced working knowledge of Microsoft outlook, Access, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communications skills for reporting information to patient and staff
  • Superior customer service with ability to understand and meet patient and Physician needs
  • Demonstrate ability to take initiative and act independently using sound judgment as well as accepting direction
  • Experience working with Accuro EMR

Job Type:
Part-time


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
