THE ROLE - SEWER AND WATERMAIN FOREMAN
Our company is looking to hire an experienced
Sewer and Watermain Foreman. CH Excavating has a diverse portfolio of pipe work in and around London Ontario, with immediate employment opportunity.
The Foreman is responsible for delivering satisfactory results of projects of varying size and complexity. This includes directing, organizing, and controlling onsite project activities.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Active onsite supervision of pipe crew(s) and service crew(s).
- Direct and support all safety precautions and quality of work measures for the site team.
- Track daily productions, noting successes or difficulties to relay back to Estimating and Management.
- Assist with material management; review deliveries, schedule / advise of progress vs. material onsite.
- Assist with subcontractor planning; provide scheduling assistance to plan subcontractor mobilizations.
- Review scope or drawing updates to identify changes to work plan or needs onsite.
- Plan and manage site operation; material management, staging and cleanup.
- Assist in scheduling required inspections, testing, or other 3rdparty items if required.
- Advise or flag equipment for replacement if it becomes unsafe or in need of maintenance.
- Support and promote collaborative and costeffective problem solving with support staff and crew.
- Represent company values in a positive and professional manner.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; able to excel in a team environment.
- Knowledge of sewer, watermain, structure installations and methods.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Able to identify Soil type and appropriate sloping or shoring techniques.
- Able to effectively manage day while supervising others.
- Knowledgeable with project drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Experience with heavy equipment considered an asset.
- Experience with surveying or GPS layout and equipment considered an asset.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
- Experience as a Heavy Civil or Sewer and Watermain foreman.
- Union or nonUnionized applicants welcome.
- Post Secondary education in Engineering or Construction an asset but not required.
COMPENSATION
- Company vehicle provided.
- All tools including crib, rigging, confined space, hand, and power tools provided.
- Safety training and recertification can be provided by Employer as needed.
Job Types:

Salary:
$36.00-$45.00 per hour
