Job description

Lighthouse Bistro and Pub is looking for a experience head Chef. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated experienced Chef to come on board and help develop and lead the culinary team.

Chef Job Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and manage culinary team.
Develop and plan menus and daily specials.
Create prep lists for kitchen crew.
Manage food costing and inventory.
Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance.
Ensure compliance with applicable health codes and regulations.
Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas.
Build and develop culinary team

Qualifications / Skills:

Demonstrated knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
Understanding of menu and recipe development techniques
Understanding of inventory controls and menu costing
Strong leadership abilities
Ongoing awareness of culinary trends
Understanding of health and sanitation laws
Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and Squirrel system.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Formal culinary training / culinary degree
8+ years experience in Canada in highvolume kitchens
Previous kitchen management experience
Previous menu development experience
Red Seal certification considered an asset.
