Job brief


The Health and Safety Team is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our team who will help foster safety leadership & culture across the organization.

The Health and Safety Advisor will play a significant role in supporting Operations and Project Managers in the execution of HSE systems, programs, policies, processes, and training.

You will provide support and advice to staff in relation to health and safety requirements and best practices within the organization.

We are seeking creative thinkers who take on the roles of coach and advisor in partnering with different business units to champion our health and safety practices and policies.


Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the Health and Safety team to ensure safe operations of all Operating Stations and Construction Sites
  • Assist in developing, implementing, monitoring, and revising programs and procedures associated with environment, health, and safety systems throughout the organization.
  • Oversee, develop, and implement the Hazard Prevention Program and related safe work procedures, field level hazard assessments, and associated guidelines
  • Provide support to projects throughout the organization to ensure HSE standards are included throughout all project phases and fully considered in design of stations and facilities.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable safety and environmental legislation by keeping current with best practices.
  • Working along side the Operational Team on Health and Safety documentation support
  • Support incident investigations and reporting in finding fundamental root causes,
identify proper corrective actions, ensure follow-up, and collaborate, as required,

  • Conduct site visits regularly to ensure compliance including assessing safety protocol of subcontractors and their teams.
  • Conduct regular safety observations and audits to identify deficiencies to be addressed.

Requirements:


  • 3+ years in relevant work experience within industrial gas, oil and gas, industrial maintenance
  • A University Degree or College Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and/or Risk Management or a combination of education and industry experience
  • Experience working on large scale projects is an asset.
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Solid understanding of Safety Management Systems
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable HSE Laws, regulations and standards
  • Passion for sustainability and renewable energies
  • Able to travel to projects sites up to 20% of the time.

Experience:
