Duties:

Under the direction of Dr. Lucyshyn-Wright, Dept.

of Mathematics and Computer Science, duties include:
- independent and collaborative research in mathematics at Brandon University;
- writing reports and/or papers;
- writing notes to communicate research progress;
- attending in-person meetings at Brandon University;
- collaborative discussion and reporting of research progress in meetings;
- assigned reading and study in mathematics;
- other relevant duties as assigned.


Qualifications/Experience:


  • Completed course requirements for fouryear Bachelor's degree in mathematics, with excellent marks;
  • Documented excellent performance in an abstract/modern algebra course with a mark at the A+ level;
  • Evidence of strong aptitude in pure mathematics and of excellent performance in pure mathematics;
  • Effective written and verbal communication;
  • Evidence of effective independent written work in pure mathematics, such as formal survey papers or research papers;
  • Evidence of effective written research work in pure mathematics, such as research papers;
  • Research experience in category theory is an asset.
