Overview

In this high volume facility, the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is responsible to ensure enthusiastic, courteous and safe quality of service is provided to all customers, while striving to create a venue staffed by knowledgeable, helpful, and cheerful staff who are motivated on exceeding guest satisfaction and operating revenue targets.

Responsibilities

Create strategies and controls including new initiatives, revenue maximization, management and supervisory skill assessment.
Recruit, hire, train, schedule and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of all Food and Beverage staff and work toward continuous personal development and success.
Counsel team members and complete team performance evaluations and reviews by providing feedback and conducting daily score cards/ 'secret shopper'.
Ensure all operating equipment and control standards and systems are used.
Generate applicable departmental reports. Update when needed, existing control and procedure manuals including development of new manuals.
Enforce all health and safety and sanitation standards, including preventative maintenance as it pertains to kitchen areas.
Supervise the Food and Beverage areas to ensure that operations are effectively, safely and efficiently carried out, while continually looking for ways to improve Fallsview Indoor Waterpark operations in order to increase revenue and decrease cost.
Participate in a Manager On Duty schedule that encompasses the rest of the business units and their supervision and complete all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 (three) years of experience in a manager/supervisory position in the food service
Graduate of a university/college Hospitality and Food Preparation Program or Hotel and Restaurant Management Program preferred
Demonstrate commitment and passion to maximizing guest satisfaction in each stage of the guest experience and the ability to establish immediate credibility with guests and staff leads all staff by example
Aboveaverage analytical and report writing skills as they pertain to problem/opportunity identification, analysis, and corresponding options/solutions
Demonstrate competency in general accounting, basic mathematics, and reportwriting
Excellent organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure
Working knowledge of computerized Point of Sales system knowledge of Micros preferred
Demonstrate experience in ability to lead and supervise a team of operating staff
Set high standards and priorities and demonstrate urgency to achieve critical goals and objectives
Demonstrate Microsoft and Excel skills to be able to update nightly Waterpark revenue reports and labour tracking
Smart Serve certified
Safe food handler certification
Must be able to work all shifts including weekends and holidays
