Serving students, staff, faculty and our wider community across all three campuses, the VPFA (Vice President Finance and Administration) leads and develops foundational support services to help achieve SFU's academic, research and community engagement missions.
We deliver SFU's day-to-day operational and administrative needs through the work of Ancillary Services; Facilities Services; Finance; IT Services; and Safety & Risk Services.
We collaboratively, respectfully and inclusively engage and work with our community partners to meet the needs of and make a difference in the everyday lives of the people we serve, in addition to creating a vibrant work culture of learning and growth for our over 600 staff.
SFU IT Services empowers the university to thrive and innovate through the effective use of data and technology, and is focused on improving the digital experience for our students, faculty, researchers and staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field and seven years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory with the skills required to manage, install, upgrade and monitor AD services in an enterpriselevel infrastructure.
- Excellent knowledge of the following Microsoft products: Windows Server versions 2012 R2, 2016 and 2019; Active Directory; Windows Failover Clustering / SQL Server Clustering; Key Management Service (KMS); Remote Desktop Services; Internet Information Services (IIS); Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM); Active Directory Certificate Services; and, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
- Excellent knowledge and practical experience with VMWare virtualization technologies.
- Good knowledge of networking concepts including routing, firewalls and load balancers.
- Good knowledge of Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills relating to AD and Windows Server.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, teamwork, and mentorship skills.
- Excellent analytical reasoning, problem solving, time management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
