EMSL Canada is currently a seeking
Full Time **Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Preparation of samples (air, water, food and bulk materials) for microbiology analysis.
Record data in a specific, clear and concise manner.
Some clerical work may be involved including data entry and logging in of samples for the Microbiology department.
Assist with equipment autoclave duties.
Assist with laboratory organization, supply inventory, calibrations, and cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Assist with working on special projects as assigned.
Media and reagent preparation and quality control.
Maintaining the QA/QC Program and Standard Operating Procedures.
Other duties may be assigned to meet laboratory needs.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in a

Biological Science:
Microbiology and/or Biology is preferred
Must be able to multi-task and adhere to requirements of the Quality Management System
Experience with air samples, surface samples, food testing, bacteriology, and mycology is desirable
Two years environmental microbiology lab experience is a plus
Must be able to work with microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and must be able to adhere to sterile technique and good lab practices
Good communication skills (will have some client interaction)
Good computers skill both in typing and MS Office
Attention to Detail, Ability to maintain client confidentiality
Able to work independently and with a team
Must be able to work well under pressure and meet short deadlines
Must be able to work some weekends as needed

Available Shift:

Monday to Friday 9:00 5:30 p.m.
