    Do you want to work for a non-profit community living organization which is celebrating over 60 years and offers varied and fulfilling employment?

    If so, Rivercity Inclusion may be the place to work for you We are hiring into our casual pool in any one of the day programs, which include:

    Passages Day Program – This program provides supports and teaching in the areas of daily living, social, communication, pre-vocational, recreation, and leisure and provides opportunities for clients to access their community.

    Leisure and Recreation Program – Offers meaningful activities to enhance the lives of adults with developmental disabilities who are semi or full-time retired.

    Semi Independent Living – supporting adults with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible in their own home. Our staff help with daily living skills to include banking, budgeting/bill paying, grocery shopping, household maintenance, social and leisure, and personal hygiene, etc.

    Supported Employment – Through training in job search skills, interview skills, and job-specific skills, Supported Employment works with local employers to assist individuals eligible for our services in obtaining meaningful work within the community.

    Customized Employment – Provides a way of offering non-traditional solutions to obtain opportunities for people who have significant barriers to employment, which benefits both the employee and employer. It includes customized job tailoring, job coaching and skills training free of charge.

    HYPE – Helping Young Adults Procure Employment – The Program focuses on preparing young adults after graduation to get ready for employment. Our staff emphasize personal development and safety, champion community inclusion awareness, resume building, job mentoring/shadowing, work experience and volunteering, as well as Food Safe and WHMIS training. This program will help provide life skills needed in exploring employment within the community.

    Confidence in Community – These one-to-one programs provide relevant social and life skills; recreational and community access activities based on the individuals' expressed preferences and needs.

    Rate of pay: Starting at $21.63 as per Collective Agreement Grid Level 10 and reaching a maximum of $25.19.

    Requirements: : Covid-19 vaccination certificate / secured exemption (as per the recent Public Health Order), valid Class 4 Driver's License (UPON 90 DAYS OF HIRE), current First Aid and CPR, negative TB test results, current Criminal Record Check as per Association policy, Food Safe Certification. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention is delivered in house, post hire.

    Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills: Previous experience of working with people with developmental disabilities is an asset. Preference will be given to those with previous experience working with people with a dual diagnosis and challenging behavior. Must display a proven ability to calmly and effectively work with individuals with complex behavioral and emotional needs. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as basic computer knowledge. Must display enthusiasm, energy, and a willingness to be flexible in adapting to a varied schedule. Must be physically fit, willing and able to meet all physical demands of the job, including swimming. Must be comfortable and willing to work independently.

    Must have access to a reliable and suitable vehicle as transporting clients may be required. Shifts include weekends and evening availability. If you have skills in crafts or music, we welcome you to share these as appropriate to the program.
