Functional Tester responsibilities will include:


  • Create Test strategies, Test Plans, Test Completion documents and status reports
  • Understanding and adapting complex system architecture and creating test strategy
  • Create traceability Matrix to map requirements and test cases in a spreadsheet
  • Consult with business and systems analysts on test plans and test cases.
  • Find reproduce and accurately report issues in detailed bug reports
  • Analyze and troubleshoot reported defects and internal issues
  • Follow up on bugfixing efforts with developers to ensure proper closure and resolution of discovered and existing issue
  • Review test cases with SME and BA
  • General overview on the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Create detailed system and integration test cases
  • Analyze test results and demonstrate the results
  • Provide test execution and defect status reports
  • Log and manage defects in a tool and conduct defect triage meetings
  • Escalate Roadblocks

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of financial industry experience
  • Strong ETL or SQL experience
  • Ability to quickly acquire knowledge on complex integrated systems
  • Proactive in contacting technical and business person to understand the system flows
  • Test Management tools (TFS, Jira, HPQC, etc.)

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 8+ years of financial industry experience
