Summary

We are launching a ClimateTech venture that will maximize Electric Vehicle (EV) charger uptime through a Network Operations Centre, giving Charge Point Operators (CPOs) unprecedented reliability of their entire network.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and highly experienced individual to act as Founder and Chief Technology Officer to build, lead and scale this venture.

This company will be independent of Diagram Ventures.

The opportunity

As the adoption rate for Electric Vehicles (EVs) drastically increases, EV charging infrastructure is expanding to support the growing number of consumer and commercial EVs on the road.

Charge Point Operators (CPOs) are tasked with being in control of their charging station's reliability and ensuring their network is operable, which is easier said than done.

Charger failure has been a major topic of discussion in the industry over the last two years, with many studies showing 1/5 of chargers are found to be inoperable at any given time due to software or hardware faults.

Today, charger reliability is more important than ever with uptime requirements in the US seen to be 97% and similar standards on the horizon in Canada.

We believe CPOs need support to streamline the repair and maintenance process to minimize station downtime. We have defined a vision for a company that will solve for charger reliability.

Our newly created venture offers a suite of tools to ensure uptime requirements are met and to keep stations performing at their best.

This venture has been significantly de-risked, with product-market fit verified and a solid commercial pipeline. Diagram provides capital, network, and support services, giving you the leverage you need to quickly scale this business.

This opportunity is ideal for a motivated entrepreneur, looking to maximize their chances of success, all while retaining significant founder equity.

Who we're looking for

We are assembling the dream team of entrepreneurs and technologists, and we are now looking for an accomplished Chief Technology Officer to build the venture and guide the strategic vision.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high caliber team
  • Own the product and technology vision including (but not limited to) the software platform, integration/interaction with charger hardware, and datadriven features such as diagnostic and predictive analytics
  • Be handson as "engineer #1" to lead the build of the MVP to gotomarket
  • Work closely with the CEO and Investors/Board to align on the product vision of the company
Experience

  • Track record of building exceptional and scalable products from scratch
  • Experience building at the intersection of software, hardware, and data analytics, and dealing with enterprise integrations
  • Previously sourced and led strong teams across all technology functions (development, architecture, DevOps, cybersecurity, etc.)
  • Experience working in fastgrowth environments in early stage companies
Other Desirable Assets

  • The person has previously worked in the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) industry and is familiar with EV charging hardware and software technology
  • Knowledge of OCPP 1.6 or OCPP 2.0.1
