    We are searching for a Permanent Part time Cook to join our PARKLAND CLAYTON PARK team based in HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA.

    About the Opportunity


    • Plans and prepares meals according to established standards, procedures, recipes and menus, including preparing special meals to meet appropriate therapeutic menu modifications according to established guidelines;

    • Assists with preparation of food for special functions (e.g. catering, theme dinners) to ensure service meets established standards;

    • Reports any recipe shortages, discrepancies or quality issues to the Executive Chef or supervisor in a timely manner;

    • Cleans and sanitizes cooking station daily; maintains cleanliness of kitchen equipment such as ovens, kettles, mixers or others according to legislative and organizational standards;

    • Follows disposal procedures according to established waste management guidelines for organics, paper, plastics, cans/bottles, non-recyclable material, etc;

    About You

    In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:


    • Culinary Arts Diploma and a valid Red Seal Certificate

    • Current Food Handler's Certificate

    • Experience in preparing large quantities of food

    • Ability to read & follow detailed recipes/instructions as required

    • Ability to provide a clear criminal record check

    • A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
