Description
The Granite Club is looking for a Banquet Supervisor is responsible for the organizing and directing of service activities in the private dining rooms, the ballroom and all areas in the club where special events are scheduled.
The Banquet Supervisor is expected to be a leader, teacher and a role model for the staff to follow.The position also entails the maintenance and enhancement of the Granite Gold level of service necessary to properly represent the Granite Club.

- Conduct briefings with F&B service staff prior to each function
- Responsible for the appearance of staff, uniforms and name tags while on duty
- Assist Banquet Manager and Assistant Banquet Manager with overseeing the Stewarding Department also including: hiring, promotions and recommendations for termination of staff
- Record hours of staff on time sheets, submission of weekly payroll
- Thorough check of all function rooms before event to ensure proper set up, appearance and cleanliness
- Proper handling of F&B contracts, change logs and associated paperwork
- Inspect equipment and arrange for repairs as required
- Promote teamwork and two way communication
- Promote excellent Member relations
- Assist Banquet Manager with the overall departmental goals
- Excellent working relationship with Chef and Kitchen Staff
- Willing to taste different foods on various menu items served
- Assists with Banquet Inventory
- Ensures compliance with the Liquor Laws of Ontario
- Proper usage of Northstar checking of daily, weekly and changing schedule as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by Banquet Manager
- Attend staff meeting as required
- Other duties as required
- Minimum Grade 12 Education
- Minimum of 3 years prior Banquet experience
- Hospitality Degree or Diploma an asset
- Previous management experience an asset
- Able to make quick decisions
- Strong communication skills
- Good working knowledge of computers
- MS Word and Excel, Point of Sale, Abacus
- Flexible to work variable shifts; evenings, weekends and holidays
