Permanent full-time 1.0 FTE (75 hours bi-weekly)


Compensation:
$70,000 - $80,000

YOUR ROLE


As an active leader on the Communications, Marketing & Events team, the Manager, Events & Sponsorship is integral to the development and execution of Canuck Place Children's Hospice's (CPCH) signature fundraising events.

You will be responsible for leading and executing CPCH's event sponsorship program from strategy development and solicitation through to execution and stewardship.

You will also manage key supporting initiatives including guest communications, volunteers, and logistics. This role also leads all aspects of the development and execution of donor stewardship events.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for building and maintaining a portfolio of event sponsors to reach financial targets
  • Manages all aspects of the event sponsorship program including package design and development, solicitation, negotiation, activation, recognition, and benefit tracking and fulfillment, reporting, and stewardship of each relationship
  • Works closely with the Associate Director, Events & Sponsorship to support the Gift of Time and Gift of Love gala committees in reaching their objectives with emphasis on providing exceptional communication, resources, and support during planning and execution
  • Oversees and provides support, direction, and mentorship to the Coordinator, Events & Sponsorship.
  • Manages the strategy, planning, and development of guest communications for all events
  • Manages the development and execution of preevent fundraising initiatives and postevent impact reporting process in collaboration with internal teams
  • Responsible for the development and execution of onsite fundraising initiatives including gala raffles and the Enjoy it Now Wine Program
  • Supports the development of signature event design concept and décor as well as production elements including show collateral
  • Provides lead support for all signature event logistics, while maintaining adherence to critical paths and deadlines
  • Supports the development of the guest journey for all events to mitigate risk and establish contingency plans
  • Works closely with CPCH Volunteer Services to manage volunteer recruitment, training, and execution for all events
  • Manages the budget, contracts, and logistics for donor stewardship events, working closely with the Development team to determine objectives, event concept, invitation process and criteria, and volunteer requirements
  • Works closely with the CPCH Donor Services and Finance teams on data management, payment processing, tax receipting, and donor inquiries
  • Liaises with staff in various departments, Canuck Place volunteers at events, as well as external vendors and suppliers
  • Manages CPCH involvement in BMO Vancouver Marathon RUN4HOPE

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary degree or diploma in event planning, marketing, or communications.

A minimum of 7+ years' experience supporting similar scope events, preferably in a non-profit organization; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Clear and valid BC driver's license and access to a vehicle are required
  • Proficiency in Trello, Slack, Google Drive, Dropbox, Raiser's Edge, Givergy, Adobe InDesign, and WordPress are an asset
