We are currently looking for a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant. Our ideal team member is enthusiastic, energetic, and eager to handle pets, big and small. (We are primarily a small animal hospital, but we do see exotics.)


As a Veterinary Assistant you will excel at collaboration and assist our veterinarians, RVTs, assistants and receptionists in varying tasks.

You will be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment while ensuring our pets and their families receive the highest standard of care.

This is the perfect position for someone who loves interacting with people, is detail oriented, and open to many tasks with a warm heart toward the pet's health care.

At Lindsey Vet, veterinary experience is preferred, but we are happy to welcome and train the right person. The salary range for this full-time position is $ $25.00 /hr. Our salary range is primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.


Job Description Overview (but not limited to):

  • Assist with patient care and treatment
  • Monitor hospitalized pets
  • Care for animals after surgery
  • Maintain inventory and stock products
  • Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims
  • Aid with routine diagnostic tests
  • Maintain & sterilize surgical instruments/equipment
  • Clean/Disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas of hospital
  • Administer medications under Veterinarian/Vet Tech supervision
  • Feed/bath animals
  • Provide gold standard customer service
  • Answer phones
  • Handle financial transactions
  • Maintain client management system records
  • Help clients with their pets

Qualifications:

  • 18yrs old or older.
  • Be a selfstarter, able to multitask and a team player.
  • Genuinely enjoys working with animals and can deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals. Should be able to lift 40lbs on own.
  • Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent or squatting position.
  • Is experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members.
