  • Minimum Requirements
  • BSW degree preferred;
  • Completion of a postsecondary diploma or certificate such as a community services workers course, human services workers course, social services course, nursing diploma/degree, child development diploma, or bachelor's degree in psychology, education, social work, sociology, etc;
  • Minimum of two years experience, or acceptable combination of education, training and/ or experience;
  • Proven organizational and evaluation skills;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Accurate record keeping and reporting;
  • High degree of professionalism;
  • Ability to work cooperatively within the multidisciplinary, interagency framework with school and community partners
Additional Assets - Direct knowledge and experience of the community served;

  • A broad knowledge base related to the physical, psychosocial and emotional needs of a family unit;
  • Ability to establish and maintain caring, supportive and trusting relationships;
  • In depth knowledge of services available in the community;
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other persons and services as part of a Comprehensive Plan of Services for a family;
  • Knowledge of normal/abnormal child development;
  • Knowledge of financial management;
  • Excellent teambuilding skills.
