Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the delivery of Meridian products by coordinating deliveries, ensuring timely processing of permits, and monitoring schedules.

This role collaborates closely with sales, operations, and customers. The combined position also involves handling inbound sales queries, making sales, and providing quotes.

Job Duties:


  • Process all required paperwork for shipping arrangements.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with legal and customs regulations.
  • Track shipments and verify receipts when required.
  • Resolve issues related to missing documents, shipments, and deliveries.
  • Assist in coordinating permits and hydro clearances for timely delivery.
  • Work with sales, operations, and scheduling to ensure accurate trucking schedules and customer contact for delivery arrangements.
  • Maintain accurate driver schedules and ensure deliveries adhere to the schedule.
  • Emphasize saleable features, quote prices and credit terms, and prepare sales orders for orders obtained.
  • Develop an efficient method of followup on all quotations.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely sales information.
  • Address customer concerns professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Handle inbound sales calls to convert calls into sales.
  • Prepare and keep the dealer database current, assisting regional sales managers.
  • Work with outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature current, accurate, and complete.
  • Investigate and professionally resolve customer complaints regarding deliveries.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in the trucking industry and shipping preferred.
  • Knowledge of filling out waybills, bills of lading, and international shipments.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and independently.
  • Positive team attitude.
  • High level of proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM software packages.
  • Experience in agricultural, commercial, and industrial sales an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to attract sales and maintain customer relationships.
  • Solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
