JOB SUMMARY:
The Cleaner would be responsible for regular scheduled cleaning and disinfecting at different locations located in Halifax peninsula. These locations include a residential program, community resource centres and an administration office.
Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Cleaner will be responsible for monitoring cleaning supplies at each location and providing regular inventory status to identify items required.
The Cleaner will also be required on occasion to assist programs with "major cleans" involving deep cleaning of appliances and other identified areas within the facility.

Compensation:
$20.00 per hour.
Hours of Work:
hours per week (Monday - Friday) mornings.
Locations:
Several buildings including office settings, community resource centres and residential programs. Scheduled travel to locations required within Halifax peninsula.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for floor care, performing various surface tasks, including vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and spotcleaning
- Responsible for dusting, spraying, and cleaning surface areas
- Responsible for removing trash
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms
- Responsible for cleaning of windows as directed
- Perform dusting, disinfecting, and polishing of surfaces and furniture as needed
- Seasonal major clean of appliances
- Additional cleaning/organizing duties as required
- Responsible for reporting repairs and replacements encountered when executing tasks
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 23 years direct experience as a cleaner
- WHIMIS certification
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products, including chemicals and supplies, and methods used in office cleaning
- Effective communication skills to effectively follow written or verbal instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff team members
- Excellent attention to detail when cleaning
- Ability to follow a schedule and adapt to changing schedules or routines as required
- Physical ability to lift 25 to 30 pounds without assistance. Must be able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, and stand for a long duration with ease.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
