    DescriptionThe Human Resources Manager plays a critical role in supporting our business.

    Reporting to the General Manager and Maintenance Director, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for the following activities:


    • Support organizational and business specific initiatives
    Manage and coordinate the full Recruitment Cycle, which includes:

    • develop and implement recruitment strategies for the hiring and selection of internal and external candidates, including the engagement of Recruitment Agencies, when necessary
    • draft Job Postings
    • Pre-screen and Interview Candidates
    • Draft Offer letters
    • Onboard new employees
    • Support and embrace Diversity and Inclusion
    • Address and respond to employee issues
    • Performance management
    • Provide advice, guidance, counsel and support to supervisors/managers on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, legal compliance, performance improvement plans, workplace investigations, workplace accommodations, and disciplinary actions, up to and including terminations.
    • Administer and manage Employee Benefits and Retirement Saving Programs
    • Develop, implement and edit employee-related programs, policies and procedures, including development/implementation of related training, if required.
    • Manage the Fitness for Duty Policy
    • Research and implement best practices, including Staff Retention Strategies and benchmarking of compensation
    • Conduct Exit interviews
    • Retention and Offboarding of employees
    • Maintain and update all HR files, including Employee Personal Files
    • Stay informed on upcoming changes to legislation
    • Performs additional duties as required.
    Qualifications

    • Degree or diploma in HR Management
    • 10+ years' experience in all aspects of Human Resources
    • Strong working knowledge of various related legislation, such as Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships proactively with employees at all levels
    • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work with limited direct supervision
    • Highly developed organizational, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Is detail oriented and have strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential information
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is an asset
