Reporting to the Manager UEL, the Superintendent of Public Works is responsible for long range planning and management of a comprehensive program of community infrastructure.
The position builds and maintains relationships with residents, stakeholders and other jurisdictions, including adjacent public works and planning departments, police, fire, highways, regional district and health authorities.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor and/or Technical Diploma in a suitable field, such as Civil and Structural or Building Technology. Trades qualification applicable to public works preferred.
- Minimum two years municipal experience in this field
- Certification as a BC building inspector to Level 3 preferred.
- Eligibility for membership with the Public Works Association of BC and/or Building Officials Association of BC.
- Standard First Aid or higher level training.
About this Position:
This position is excluded from union membership.
An eligibility list may be established for future permanent and temporary opportunities.
This position is located in Vancouver.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two
(2) days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
