Position Overview:
As a member of a Home Care Team, and accountable to the Team Manager (TM), the incumbent supervises and ensures the efficient delivery of services to Home Care clients by coordinating Direct Service Staff (DSS) consisting of ISWs, HCAs, HSWs and RAs in accordance with the HCA/HSW Collective Agreement, program standards and policies, and care plans developed by Case Coordinators (CC).
The incumbent maintains a competent complement of DSS to meet case load demands including identifying recruitment and education needs; matching, assigning and scheduling DSS; and providing ongoing supervision and evaluation.
Experience:
- Previous experience supervising staff, preferably in a unionized environment, is required.
- Proficiency in computerized systems (windows environment, word processors, spreadsheets and databases).
- Previous experience scheduling staff in work assignments.
- Related experience in a healthcare field.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):
- Recognized postsecondary certificate and/or diploma in a health services or social sciences field required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration:
- Must have a valid driver's license and use of a vehicle.
