    As a Heavy Duty Mechanic at Sandvik, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical components of surface mining equipment according to specified requirements. Additionally, you will oversee the commissioning of new equipment and provide training at customer locations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Inspect equipment for performance issues and identify faults
    • Adjust and repair defective parts, components, or systems
    • Test repaired equipment for proper functionality
    • Commission new equipment
    • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives
    • Maintain accurate time records and technical reports
    • Stay updated on industry trends, customer needs, and technical advancements
    • Perform other tasks as assigned

    Environmental Health and Safety:

    • Adhere to safety policies and regulations
    • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents
    • Conduct risk assessments before each task
    • Ensure equipment and work area are properly maintained
    • Attend relevant safety trainings
    • Wear necessary personal protective equipment

    Requirements:

    • Red Seal certification
    • Minimum 3 years of experience with mining equipment (preferred)
    • Familiarity with Sandvik equipment is a bonus
    • Proficient in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics
    • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues in mining equipment
    • Strong communication skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office
    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally and nationally
    • Flexible availability for varied shifts
    • Legal authorization to work in Canada
