Working in a dynamic environment and reporting to the Director, Risk Management Services, this excluded management position is responsible for developing, implementing, and reporting on the districts' Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, manages the district's insurance program and claims process and provides advisory services as a trusted risk advisor to the organization.
In developing policy, risk tolerance standards, risk practices, risk transfer processes, governance models and compliance programs, the Manager works closely with the district's Leadership Team to inspire and drive change.
The nature and scope of work requires a significant degree of independence and judgement in a specialized area of practice.
A minimum of five (5) years recent experience in risk management with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility. Experience in a management/leadership role desiredPost-secondary degree in business management, project management, or related business discipline
CRM, CRMP or RIMS Fellow designation is desired
Experience with business contract law and FIPPA/privacy is desired
Experience in the public sector is an asset.

Self-motivation and can work with mínimal direction and oversight by the Director.
A solid understanding of Risk Management techniques including risk identification, assessment, mitigation tactics and monitoring.
Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and to shift priorities in response to business demands, using effective prioritization and time management.
Excellent verbal communication, written, interview and facilitation skills and an ability to liaise with senior management level stakeholders in a confident and articulate manner.
Ability to manage, influence and empower others and to work cooperatively and collaboratively across teams.
Strategic thinking and change management skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels in the organization and to work as part of a management team.
Proven ability to be detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving and project management skills.
Advanced planning and project management skills to develop operating plans, processes, methods, and standards, and to coordinate execution of audits and delivery of other audit services.
Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills to diagnose challenges and issues; develop business solutions; and to assess risks and opportunities that may affect the department.
