    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Krafton is looking for an in-house Legal Counsel with 5-10 years of relevant experience. Principal duties will be supporting commercial transactions and managing IP. Additional duties may involve support for employment matters and other legal matters and operations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Draft, negotiate, advise, and review a broad range of commercial agreements including: services, SOWs, marketing, publishing, development, licensing, merchandising, technology, software licenses, employment, and data privacy-related agreements, etc.
    • Build and maintain contract templates and playbooks.
    • Build strong relationships and work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders globally.
    • Collaborate with other members of the IP team to identify, register, protect, and enforce the Company's IP, including copyrights, trademarks and domain names.
    • Conduct IP clearance on Company products and services, including trademark, copyright, open source, and domain name clearance.
    • Other responsibilities:
      • Supporting legal operations for Krafton and its affiliates.
      • Review changes to applicable laws and regulations and provide advice on compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
      • Provide training to business teams on the above.
      • Review and update various IP guidelines.
      • Engage and coordinate with outside counsel.
      • Occasional travel, including international, may be required.
      • Other relevant legal duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 5-10 years of relevant legal experience in top-tier law firm and/or in house legal department.
    • At least 3 years' experience in commercial transactions and related legal areas.
    • Able to handle individual commercial transaction matters without direct supervision.
    • Experience with managing, clearing, protecting and enforcing IP.
    • Flexibility to work with different time zones, different work cultures and languages (through translators).
    • Team player capable of working both independently and with others.
    • Roll up your sleeves attitude handling all aspects of matters with or without support from others.
    • Sense of humor.
    • Law degree required; must be licensed to practice law in the United States.
    • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
    • Korean language skills a plus.
    • Experience with legal technology is a plus.
    • Experience with video game, entertainment, or software technology a plus.
